Looks like last year’s quarantine wasn’t wasted time for everyone! Keyboardist Christian “Flake” Lorenz reveals that Rammstein have recorded a new album “that we hadn’t planned on”. Let’s take a look at what’s going on!
The pandemic may have you down, but here’s some good news for us Rammstein fans! Early this February, Rammstein’s keyboardist Christian Lorenz was interviewed by Motor Music, to talk about the band’s projects and ambitions. Flake explained that the band had hoped to spend 2020 on an international tour, which would have included their first full-scale stadium tour of North America. Obviously, the tour had to be postponed due to the pandemic. However, that’s only a small setback, and rescheduled dates for the Rammstein Europe stadium tour 2021 can already be found on the band’s official website!
That said, the artists did not sit around. Rammstein band spent some time in the studio, where they recorded new material… for an upcoming new album! We got confirmation through these awesome behind-the-scenes photos from the studio, shared by the band last year. Take a look for yourselves!

STUDIO LA FABRIQUE 2018
La Fabrique Studios
It was already clear in June of last year that the band returned to writing music, after Christoph “Doom” Schneider confirmed it in a German podcast. But we were still in the dark. Until now…
Then in October 2020, a photo and a video of the group working at La Fabrique Studios appeared on the Rammstein Instagram page. Till Lindemann and his musicians rented this studio in the south of France for the second time – they had recorded their untitled seventh album there. Finally, some juicy news!
Flake’s interview with Motor Music
Now, in the interview with the online magazine of the record label Motor, to which the band is under contract, Flake reveals the band has gotten an entire new album recorded during the pandemic. He explains:
“The fact that we couldn’t perform live increased our creativity. We had more time to think of new things and less distraction. As a result, we recorded a record that we hadn’t planned on.”
Release date
The hype is growing, but we don’t have a release date for the new album yet. However, it seems we’ll still be getting those new tracks way quicker than we usually do from Rammstein. There are 10 years between sixth (Liebe ist für alle da in 2009) and seventh (untitled in 2019) albums. Enough to make the fans hungry for new content.
While we wait for those all-new tracks, take a listen to Bückstabü! A new release is coming soon… 🤫
